2020 Bourgogne Blanc 'Les Femelottes' Chavy Chouet.
As White Burgundy goes finding something of good quality for under £25 these days is rare, and even more so from a prominent producer based in the heart of Meursault.
That is why i was pretty impressed when i recently had a bottle of the 2020 Bourgogne Blanc 'Les Femelottes' from Chavy Chouet.
This is produced from 40 year old vines and from one single vineyard in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet, just a limestone throw from vineyards fetching double and triple the price. It's baby Puligny-Montrachet in all but name, full of orchard fruit (apples and apricots), floral notes, citrus and a lovely creamy texture. A great wine for all occasions that won't break the bank, and perfect for the summer.
